Indian talents get US honorary PhDs

American University of Swahili presenting Honorary PhDs to a student in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A Central American University, University of Swahili conducted a Doctoral Convocation Ceremony here in the city on Saturday night at Hotel Novotel Airport, Hyderabad. Dr Jagannath Patnaik, Vice Chancellor- ICFAI University; Prof. Chintakindi Sanjay Dean -- Gitam School of technology (Deemed University); Dr Rajesh R, Resident Representative of India, University of Swahili, Panama, Central America graced the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jagannath Patnaik said there should be more emphasis on the research in India higher education. Prof Chintakindi Sanjay emphasised research must solve human problems.

Swahili, the Indo-American University in Panama, USA, awarded honorary doctoral degrees to select few distinguished Indian personalities from across India, informed the university representative Dr Rajesh.

The recipients were ceremoniously conferred their PhD, Post PhD and Honorary Doctoral Degrees. Some of these awardees include B Srinivas Rao, Grapho Therapist; Preeti Rani Nigam, An Artist; Vijay Sarathi , legal luminary; Sidha Laxmi, a social activist; Vipul Bhartiya , peak power and branding expert.

Shakir Ali of Prashas Research received Professional Excellence award from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Research Centre. The professional excellence awards presented in association with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Research Centre and Prashas Research.

An Honorary Doctoral Degree is often awarded in recognition of one's life experiences and uniquely and constructively impacting the world. Honorary doctorates are often awarded by prestigious Universities.
