Instilling confidence among the less privileged: Cherish Foundation
Hyderabad: Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahin, an orphans' confidence instilling ramp walk was held in the city on Sunday at the premises of Cherish Foundation, an orphan home at Medipally in Hyderabad on Sunday
Conceptualised by Weave Nation in partnership with Cherish Foundation, Dhanalakshmi Enterprise, PRCI Hyderabad and Lodge Keys No.297, the purpose of the fashion show was to instill confidence in home mates of Cherish Foundation comprised of 50 boys and girls.
They are in the age group of 8 to 25 years. Some of them are working in some reputed IT companies, schools and organisations and others are studying. Some of these special kids are even preparing for Civil Services and aspiring to be IAS, IPS and IFS officers.
On spotting their talent, Dhanalakshmi Enterprise, PRCI Hyderabad, Lodge Keys No.297, Weave Nation came together to organize this unique event to encourage boys and girls in their career journey. 'Confidence is a very important ingredient for success. It is not just available in a platter. It has to be nurtured over a period of time.
A lot of people support orphans and their organisations by way of cash and kind' said Hima Sailaja Theerdala, Proddaturu Veerabhadrudu, Gannarapu Ashok Kumar, Devraj Solanki, D Ramchandram, MVV Seshu Kumar, the people behind 'Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahin' concept in which 25 boys participated.
Fashion Designer Hima Sailaja Theerdala of Weave Nation designed their clothes. The boys showcased Ikkat and Mangalagiri collections outsourced from local weavers from Pochampally and Koyyalaguda. Weave Nation is a contemporary handloom brand, appeals to the younger generation and promotes handloom clothes which in turn supports weavers.
The day began with "I am" contest, where the participant had to impersonate his/her favourite personality. The objective behind "I am" contest was to make them learn the great qualities of the personality they were impersonating and incorporate those qualities in them.
Again, this is a unique contest, where the participant had to wear a face mask of his or her favourite personality. One by one the contestants presented their impersonations. Based on their performance, the best two were picked up. In the end, they also showcased another placard revealing what they actually want in their life.
