International Finance Olympiad to begin from September

Hyderabad: With the intent to make school students proficient in the art of understanding and managing money from last seven years, International Financial Olympiad, 2019 is being conducted by International Institute of Financial Markets (IIFM) and Economic Times is for students from classes 8th to 12th. The International Financial Olympiad, 2019 invites application from school students from class 8th to 12th and the registrations are open till August 30.

IFO has catered to more than 48,000 students in 162 cities and 5 countries to promote financial literacy for students at school levels. Apart from having association with over 1000 schools in India. The team has also expanded internationally by incorporating several schools from Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait and Sharjah.

The Olympiad is conducted in three rounds. The first is conducted at the school level MCQ round which take place from September 1 to November 15. Students scoring above 60 per cent in the first round are then eligible for the regional round that will begin from November 16 and end on December 24.

The pattern includes written round, audio-visual round and crossword puzzles for two hours. After this, a 4-member team is then selected from six regions and called to Delhi for on stage quiz completion – IFO conducted for three hours to compete for cash scholarship worth Rs. 1.6 lakh and selection of winners.

Students registering at national and International level competition have an added advantage as they get an internationally recognised certification at every level and a chance to compete for Rs. Two lakh cash scholarship and become 'Financial Literate' at a young age.
