It's a challenge to shape students in today's times

Hyderabad: Teachers are responsible for shaping the personality of students. They have the ability to observe and assess the psychology of the students which can help in dealing with the student effectively, opined academicians and educationists.

Addressing a gathering of teachers, and community intellectuals during the release of the book 'Shaping a Student to be Human' at Media Plus Auditorium in Hyderabad on Saturday, educationists stressed that "teachers utilising their skills optimally set the societal standards as today's young students can be crafted into an asset to the country when they grow up. The book is written in English by veteran academician Muneeruddin Ahmed Alvi, Director of Adams High School.

The speakers lauded the efforts of the author for concisely presenting a myriad of topics and intriguing observations on shaping students effectively in his book spanning 90 pages. They fervently conveyed the role of school management and educational institutions and how the history of education since times immemorial to the present day has been shaping minds and personalities of students while discussing modern day challenges in shaping students to be even more human.

Highlighting the importance of teachers in this context, they urged teachers to "be affable and happy around students".

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Faiz Khan, GPA to H.E.H. The Nizam, Trustee, Mukarram Jah Trust for Education and Learning said "regardless of the institution of study, students must also cultivate the drive to study by themselves" to excel in academics. Zafar Javeed, Secretary of Sultan ul Uloom Education Society who presided over the function, termed the author's book "an important asset for both parents and the teachers" including the school managements.

Speaking as the guest of honour, Vibha Asthana, Principal of Ghulam Ahmed College of Education shared lessons from her experience in teaching students, and as part of the management. Chief Editor of Gawah Urdu Weekly and Managing Partner of Media Plus Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez welcomed the guests. "Adams High School managed by the author was founded in the old city of Hyderabad when setting up a school in the area was unimaginable due to socio-economic conditions in the vicinity then. Ever since, the school has dramatically contributed to educating thousands of children in its milieu and is now in its Golden Jubilee year" he said while introducing the author.

Speaking on the occasion, Convener of the program and Joint Director of Adams High School Shabbir Ahmed Alvi presented a vote of thanks while Media Plus CEO Syed Khaled Shahbaaz compeered the program. Syed Aamer Javeed, and heads of different educational institutions were also present on this occasion
