Machines can work as human beings
Hyderabad: 'In the near future where machines are not merely dumb devices, but intelligent creations that can work in tandem with human beings.
This future is not merely an imagination but a natural consequence of the two most dynamic technologies of today – Artificial Intelligence in the Internet of Things' said Dr Nagender Kumar Suryadevara, Associate Professor, Central University of Hyderabad.
He graced as chief guest for valedictory session of two-day 'AI-IoT Conclave' organised by the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EECE), School of Technology of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad on 28-29 February 2020.
Dr Nagender elaborated that Artificial Intelligence deals with the creation of systems that can learn to emulate human tasks using their prior experience and without any manual intervention.
Internet of Things, on the other hand, is a network of various devices that are connected over the internet and they can collect and exchange data with each other.
'Internet of Things' is used to collect and handle the huge amount of data that is required by the Artificial Intelligence algorithms. In turn, these algorithms convert the data into useful actionable results that can be implemented by the IoT devices' Dr Suryadevara explained.
He appreciated the efforts of GITAM to organize this two-day conclave and wished to organise many more sessions to get hands-on experience.
Prof N Seetaramaiah, Principal, School of Technology appreciated the EECE department for organising this conclave successfully and wished to organize an international conference in this regard.
Prof K Majunatha Chary, HoD, EECE Department said that they have organized this conclave for the benefit of the research community and about 105 participants across the nation have taken part, out of them 31 from other engineering colleges and 15 research scholars.
M Naresh Kumar, convener of this conclave proposed the vote of thanks. This conclave is very useful, covered multiple domains and gave a lot of insights and pave the way to take up research projects in this line said the participants in their feedback.
