Optica 2020 deliberates on recent developments in optometry
Hyderabad: Department of Optometry, School of Medical and Allied Sciences, Sanskriti University organised National Optometry Seminar, SMAS - Optica "2020''. The main objective of the seminar was to deliberate on the contemporary issues in Optometry along with a discussion about the recent developments in the domain of Optometry.
The seminar was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Dean -Academics Prof. Dr. Atul Kumar, Dean -SMAS -Dr. Pallavi Shrivastava along with the invited Dignitaries to the Seminar.
Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh delivered the welcome address and elaborated on the various diseases and technology-enabled solutions to cater to the exponentially growing needs of the patients in the domain of Optometry.
The seminar witnessed the participation of delegates from different parts of the country including the faculty members, research scholars, and students. The event was graced by honorable dignitaries Optom. AB Srivastava (Agra), Optom. Anand Murti (New Delhi) and Optom. Manish Mayer (Lucknow) from the Optometry Department.
In the seminar, Guest Speaker Optom AB Srivastava shared his knowledge about the use of contact lenses wherein he explained the process to remove the refractive error by using the Ortho contact lenses.
Thereafter, Optom Manish Mayer explained about the low vision aids and management of the latest device for the control of low vision aid patients. Anand Murti explained about Myopia control, and he also shared his knowledge about the management of keratoconus of the cornea.
The seminar was a grand success with profound deliberations by renowned experts from the domain of Optometry. The experts gave real-life exposure to the delegates with the help of the latest Optometric gadgets with an experiential learning approach.
