Pre-Ugadi celebrations held

Hyderabad: The forthcoming New Telugu year 'Vikari' was celebrated with traditional fervour at Lotus Lap Public School on Thursday. As part of celebrations, 'Ugadi Pachhadi' an amalgamation of six different tastes representing different components of life, was distributed to school children, who wore traditional Telugu dresses.

The school was adorned with mango leaves and flowers in a traditional Telugu style.

Speaking on the occasion, the school Chairman Komatireddy Gopal Reddy said the celebrations were organised with an objective of informing school children about the Telugu traditions and importance of Ugadi festival.

He explained the importance of the Ugadi festival and the Pachadi served during the festival represents different aspects of life.

Six tastes represent different shades of life. Extending the festival greetings, he wished children happy new Telugu year.

Director K Manjula Rani, Principal Geethalingam, teachers and students participated in the celebrations.
