Prof K Jayashankar remembered on his 85th birth anniversary

Hyderabad: Rich tributes were paid to Telangana Ideologue Prof Jayashankar on his 85th birth anniversary at the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), here on Tuesday. University Vice-Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao said that Prof Jayashankar fought for separate Telangana statehood with selflessly. He said Prof Jayashankar had prepared several reports on the injustice being done in the budgetary allocations, jobs and water allocations to the Telangana region. He submitted the reports right from the Fazal Ali Commission to several other committees, he added.

Asking to take inspiration from Prof Jayashakar, Dr Rao urged the scientists and young scientists and researchers in particular that they have to play a key role for the betterment of the farmers in the state

Earlier, the VC garlanded the statue of Prof Jayashankar and paid floral tributes. Dr Sudheer Kumar, Registrar, other University officers, several teaching and non -teaching staff, outsourcing employees also paid floral tributes. Later, a meeting was organised in the university auditorium where a large number of students and teaching and non-teaching staff members attended. A personality development program was also organised on the occasion at the university auditorium by the motivational speaker R Rajesh Murthy.

In Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) Prof. N Yadaiah, Registrar JNTU-H offered floral tributes to Prof Jayashankar and spoke about the contribution of Prof. K Jayashankar, including Telangana Movement, Education, Economy for development of Telangana region etc.

Further, he asked the teaching and non-teaching staff to contribute their best for the development of the University and state of Telangana, to translate the vision and dream of Prof. Jayashankar into a reality. Directors of JNTUH, JNTUH CEH, Vice Principal G N Srinivas, PRO Usha Jinakari, teaching and non-teaching staff offered floral tributes to Prof. Jayashankar.

Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) organised Prof K Jayashankar Memorial Lecture at its campus as part of 85th birthday celebrations here on Tuesday. Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Council for Higher Education, delivered the lecture on the theme "Telangana Saadhanalo Prof Jayashankar Patra".

Prof A Sudhakar, Director (Academic) BRAOU presided over the meeting. Dr G Laxma Reddy, In-charge Registrar, introduced the speaker and about the Programme. Directors, Deans, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members representatives of service associations offered floral tributes to the Prof K Jayashankar.
