Remembering our gurus with gratitude

The person without a teacher was believed to be blind in olden days. Even today, human beings learn from a teacher. In ancient days, humans were thought to have been born twice. One is due to his physical birth and the other is by choosing a knowledgeable and trustable guru. Guru Purnima is celebrated all over India to honour the greatest guru of all Veda Vyasa.

Guru plays an important role in human's life. Guru is not that person who just teaches us. But everyone who teaches us how to differentiate good and bad is considered as our Guru. The gu in guru means darkness. And ru means to destroy. So, the guru is the one who destroys our darkness. One of the great characteristics of guru is self- realisation. The good guru teaches his students with a positive attitude. He will treat all the students equally in the view of teaching. The best gift one can give to his guru is to perform their level best in their every struggle. According to Ramayana, there is no lack of knowledge where an astute guru and a curious student are present. So, let all of us be curious about knowledge and our guru, the experience will teach us.
