Three-day DAV National Sports Day in Hyderabad from tomorrow

DAV Institutions Hyderabad is all geared up to conduct 'DAV National Sports Day (Boys U/19)' from December 10 to 12 across various stadiums in the city. The inaugural ceremony of the three-day sporting extravaganza will be conducted on December 10 at 10 am in Indoor Stadium, International Sports Complex in Gachibowli.

Chief guest at the event will be Dr Punam Suri, President, DAV College Managing Committee and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi. JP Shoor, National Co-ordinator, DAV National Sports will deliver the welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony.

Ramesh Arya, Vice-President; Ravinder Talwar, Secretary; Mahesh Chopra, Secretary; JK Kapur, Secretary; MC Sharma, Hony. Treasurer; Satpal, Ex- SGFI Chairman shall grace the occasion of inauguration.

As part of cultural extravaganza the students of DAV Institutions will perform 'Jump Rope Display' and the highlight of the ceremony is a mega dance event titled 'Dakshin Darpan', where the students will mesmerise the audience with a 30-minute dance performance.

DAV students from across the nation will be participating in various sporting events at the National Sports Day. To ensure smooth flow of the events various committees and sub-committees have been formed by the institution.

Some of the disciplines where the students will compete for the top honour are Athletics, Kho-Kho, Football, Hockey, Cricket, Kabaddi, Table-Tennis, Judo, Taekwondo, Wushu, Shooting, Skating, Swimming, Archery, Karate, Wrestling, Volleyball, Handball, Badminton, Gymnastics, Lawn tennis, Basketball, Yoga, Chess amongst others.

The students of DAV institutions won 18 medals in National School Games conducted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and with events like these, the young athletes of the country are sure to reach the stars.

The closing ceremony is scheduled to be held on December 12 at 2 pm in Indoor Stadium, International Sports Complex in Gachibowli. Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President, DAV College Committee, New Delhi is the chief guest for the closing ceremony.
