Tokyo mesmerises Vizag students
Visakhapatnam: A team of seven students had a rare opportunity to take part in a study tour in Tokyo.
Accompanied by a teacher, some of the students of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan visited Japan to take part in the Sakura Science Exchange programme organised by the Japan Science and Technology Agency and Japan International Cooperation Centre.
The platform gave the students better exposure to science, technology, culture and disaster management, among other areas. The tour also provided a chance for the students to interact with astronaut and Nobel Laureate Ryoji Noyori who laid emphasis on contributing to the research and scientific development. He encouraged the youngsters to dream big.
The forum gave a fair understanding of the history of Japan's space development and on the Engineering Test Satellite KIKU-1 (ETS-I). The avenue also gave students an opportunity to interact with Mamoru Mohri, director of Miraikan, and visit the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.
Demonstration of ASIMO robot and cultural and educational exchange programme also formed part of the tour.
