UoH scholar bags WiCS Travel award
Hyderabad: Seema Prasad, a PhD scholar at the Center for Neural and Cognitive Sciences, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) is selected for the Women in Cognitive Science (WiCS) Travel and Networking award for 2019 given by WiCS in association with the Psychonomic Society.
Five individuals have been selected amongst applicants from all over the world. The award is meant to facilitate networking of junior women scientists at the Annual meeting of the Psychonomic Society to be held from 14-17 November, 2019 at Montreal, Canada where Seema is presenting a poster. The award carries a cash prize of 1000$ and will be presented at the business meeting of the Psychonomic Society at Palais des congrès de Montréal.
Seema Prasad is a Cognitive Science Ph.D. student at the Center for Neural and Cognitive Sciences working with Prof. Ramesh Kumar Mishra. She holds MSc Physics degree from the University of Mysore. In her PhD, she is examining whether it is possible to pay attention to objects that we are not consciously aware of and the extent of attentional control on unconscious processes.
