Yoga for Heart at Delhi Public School, Nadergul
Hyderabad: International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Delhi Public School (DPS), Nadergul with huge vigour and zeal. Since its inception in 2016, every year Yoga day has been religiously observed at DPS Nadergul. This year had promised to be bigger and better. The resonance of the chants—hundreds of young minds performing in synch—the experienced mentors pitching in too; it has indeed delivered the promise big time!
The concept of Yoga originated in ancient India, with the intent to connect soul to spiritualism and harmonise man and nature.
DPS Nadergul believes in the virtue of Yoga and intends to instil its values in each of its students.
To give the day a head start, the morning assembly started with Surya Namaskaram by all the students from grade I to IX along with the teachers. Students demonstrating various asanas (yoga postures) in synch with different meditation chants were a heart-warming experience, which kind of reinforced the significance of the theme—'Yoga for Heart'.
The celebration continued for about quarter to an hour and concluded with a speech by the Hon. Principal, Padma Jyothi Turaga.
She emphasised on the essence of Yoga and encouraged the students to practise it regularly for their holistic development.
She signed off the ceremony with the quote: "Yoga makes you taller, stronger and sharper."
