Amit Shah to attend BJP convention on January 17
Bangalore: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a public meeting on January 17 in Belagavi.
According to the State BJP, more than one lakh people are estimated to attend the Janasevaka convention which will be inaugurated on January 11 in all the district centres. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies K.Gopalaiah explained that the convention is a significant step for the BJP to win power in the forthcoming taluk and zilla Panchayat elections.
At the convention the members who emerged victorious in the recent gram panchayat elections will be felicitated.
"The Congress and the JDS criticism of the BJP as an urban-centric party has got the answer," he stated. Five teams have been formed to handle the State level convention and they will cover six districts each from January 11 to 13. On January 11, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa will inaugurate the convention at Mysuru along with State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
