BBMP Chief Commissioner inspects various development works in Rajajinagar
Bengaluru: Inspecting the development works in Rajajinagar Assembly constituency limits BBMP Chief Commissioner, Gaurav Gupta said that flyover work at Shivanagara is completed. The 655-metre-long grade separator flyover work at Shivanagara 1st main road and 8th main road in Shivanagar of West of Chord, Rajajinagar has been completed and is ready to be inaugurated. He instructed officials to complete the pending small-scale works in this regard.
In 2016, the flyover at West of Chord Road Manjunath Nagar, underpass at Shivanagar junction and flyover at Basaveshwar Circle were planned to be constructed.
While the Manjunath Nagar flyover work has been completed and opened to the public the Shivanagar junction project was changed from an underpass to a flyover and is still a work in progress. The grade separator flyover at Shivanagar 1st main road and 8th main road in Shivanagr is being built at Rs 71.98 crore. It will feature 7.5m long, two-way 4 lanes. But the asphalting of the ramp areas are still pending. In addition, some other beautification works such as installation of street lamps, planting of saplings at the medium and under the flyover is yet to be completed. The flyover work at Basaveshwar Junction and 72nd cross Rajajinagar is also still under construction.
Near, the Rajajinagar parent's school, a playground is developed at Rs. 2 crores. Local MLA Suresh Kumar asked BBMP Chief Commissioner for an additional fund of Rs. 2.5 crore for the completion of the playground development. Almost all of the work about the playground is completed including the retaining wall around the ground.
BBMP Chief Commissioner also asked officials to asphalt the road from Havanur Circle to Shankar Math circle, which is in terrible condition. MLA Suresh Kumar asked officials to take adequate action to ease the movement of large vehicles turning around Shankar Math circle, towards Basaveshwar Nagar.
The construction of the multipurpose building at Rajajinagar 9th main road has also been completed up to 40 per cent. Work was halted due to insufficient funds. Noting that 3.50 crore were allocated from the legislator's fund, the chief commissioner instructed to complete the work following the completion of the tender process.
A multipurpose building is also being constructed at Dayananda Nagar ward and 60 per cent of the project has been completed. The work was halted due to a lack of grants. Rs 3 crore has been provided from the legislator's fund to complete the pending work and tender has been invited for the construction work. The worn-down building next to the multipurpose building will be broken down and a skill development centre will be constructed in its place. The move will benefit the children residing in the slum areas nearby. MLA Suresh Kumar said that Rs 5 crore has been allocated for the development under the Navanagarothana grant and the tender process for the construction work is in progress. Work for the skill development centre is expected to start soon. The zonal joint commissioner was instructed to provide a report of all the dilapidated buildings in the west zone.
