Belagavi: Water adventure sports attracted large crowd
Belagavi : The water adventure sports organized as part of Chennamma's Kittoor Utsav held from October 23 to 25 have received an enthusiastic response, drawing crowds of tourists to the lake. At Tumbugere, situated alongside the National Highway in Kittur, people are enjoying three days of water adventure sports as part of the festival.
Families, including children, young men, and women, are flocking to participate in various adventure sports, such as river rafting, kayaking, motorboating, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. A young man who was boating mentioned that they had to travel far to Dandeli for boating but are now able to enjoy water adventure sports because of the festival.
He expressed the opinion that maintaining the lake's cleanliness and offering year-round boating services would be more beneficial. Boating has become a major attraction for festivalgoers at the lake.
B. Sreenivasa, Deputy Director of the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, explained that the water adventure sports organized by the General Thimmaiah National Adventure Academy are proving to be the most popular attractions at the Kittoor festival. Youngsters are eagerly participating in water adventures, and children are being made aware and provided with life jackets, alleviating their fears of the water. So far, over 500 people have taken part in these activities. Sreenivasa mentioned that discussions with the DC and MLA will be held to consider offering boating services on the lake throughout the year.
