Cops crack resort theft case in 24 hours; nab ex-staffer
Mysuru: Beechanahalli police of HD Kote taluk in Mysuru district have arrested the accused who had robbed valuables of a guest at a private resort in HD Kote taluk within 24 hours since the incident occurred.
The arrested accused has been identified as 35-year-old Jayaraju, a daily wage worker and resident of Badanaguppe village in HD Kote taluk. He had served as security guard at the same resort earlier. The police recovered cash and valuables worth Rs 5 lakh from the accused.
The guest from Bengaluru, in his complaint, mentioned that he had lost diamond pendent with chain, one pair earring, bracelet, Dell 5000 series laptop, Kindle paperwhite e-book reader and cash of about Rs 60,000 and others. The incident had occurred at room number 22 at Red Earth resort at Badanaguppe village, Kabini reservoir backwaters and Nagarahole forest belt. Based on the complaint from the guest, Beechanahalli police had registered a case under Section 380 of IPC. HD Kote Circle inspector Puttaswamy, Sub Inspector Mr Ramachandranayaka, constables Revanna, B S Ravi, Nagegowda, head constable Suresh and jeep driver Mahadevshetty H M were part of the investigation team.
