Covid-19 cases reported in Karnataka Central Jail

Karnataka: The Central jail located at Parappana Agrahara on the outskirts of Bengaluru reported 26 positive Corona cases on Wednesday evening.

According to the sources, 20 undertrials and six officials were tested positive and shifted to the Covid-19 care centre in Haj Bhavan. This incident left the rest 5000 inmates in a panic situation.

The 20 positive undertrials were among the 450 undertrials who were kept in jail a few days ago in a separate block. Out of 450 members, 150 samples were collected and 20 were tested Covid-19 positive. All the affected people were shifted to the care centre in their own vehicles. Following the reports, officials collected samples from other 200 inmates in the block.
