Govt bans New Year parties in public places

Bengaluru: Keeping in mind the Covid-19 threat, the State government on Thursday issued an order imposing a ban on New Year celebration. Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar stated that from December 30 to January 2, clubs in the State would not be allowed to organise any DJ nights or dance parties. However, they can remain open as usual and continue their business.

The restrictions will also apply to Christmas celebrations. Reacting to the guidelines, Health Minister Sudhakar said, "As it was stated earlier, New Year evening celebrations in public places and high streets like MG Road and Brigade Road in the city centre are banned to prevent crowding and avoid large gatherings, which pose risk of spreading the infection.

Now In the wake of Covid-19, the government has issued guidelines on precautionary measures to be followed in churches and in public places such as hotels and malls during Christmas and also New Year. I request the public to celebrate the festival simply and safely.
