Minister Somashekar scotches rumours of leadership change in State
Mysuru: Mysuru district in-charge minister S.T. Somashekar on Tuesday rule out change of guard in the State for the remaining term of the B.S. Yediyurappa government. He termed the talks of change of Chief Minister as mere rumours.
Speaking to media persons in Mysuru on Tuesday, Mr Somashekar said, "the meeting led by BJP leader B.L. Santhosh held on Tuesday in Bengaluru, discussed the party's preparedness for coming gram panchayat elections. We are focusing on gram panchayat elections. There are plans to appoint senior leaders as in-charge at divisional level to take care of gram panchayat elections."
Denying any differences among BJP leaders, Somashekar said ministerial posts would be given to those who joined the party from the Congress and won legislative assembly by-elections. Those who lost the elections would be made members of the Legislative Council, he said.
Mr Somashekar said former minister Roshan Baig had left the Congress because of some problems in the party. He was not among those who joined BJP. "If he is clean he will come out unscathed," the minister said.
