Minister Suresh Kumar runs after bus, stops it after driver fails to pick up students
Bengaluru: Some boorish drivers of State-run buses won't stop at designated bus stops to pick of commuters. But on Saturday, a KSRTC driver faced the ire of none other than Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar himself for speeding away without stopping at the bus stop.
Mr Suresh Kumar ran after the bus in Koratagere taluk of Tumkur district after seeing the driver speeding away without stopping to pick up students who were waiting at the bus stop. The minister, who was on his way to visit Madhugiri in Tumakuru district learnt that the bus driver refused to pick up schoolchildren despite their request. He chased after the bus and blocked it on the road near the IK Colony in Neelagondana Halli limits of Koratagere taluk.
Pulling up the driver and the conductor for their behaviour, Suresh Kumar not only sought explanation but also directed them to stop and pick up schoolchildren without fail.
Reacting to the incident, KSRTC tweeted, "The matter has been forwarded to the respective division to examine and take necessary action."
