Mysuru: World Tourism Day celebrated 

Mysuru: Mysuru Travel Association, Karnataka Tourism Development Department and Mysuru Hotels Association organised World Tourism Day here on Monday. They accorded a grand welcome to tourists at the Mysuru Palace. Titular king Yaduveer Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wodeyar greeted the tourists with flowers. There was a flurry of questions from the tourists and Yaduveer Wodeyar told them to talk to Mysore Palace Board to know more about private durbar, golden throne and the Dasara jumbos.

Prashanth , Mysuru Travels Association President said, "Due to the pandemic situation, tourism has gone for a toss in Mysuru. People who depend on tourism for their livelihood are going through a bad phase. The Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari which has been restricted only to Mysuru Palace should be extended till Bannimantap so that more people get some work."

Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies director Dr M G Manjunatha, Hotel Owners Association president C Narayana Gowda, Tourism Development's assistant director Raghavendra H B, Mysuru Travel Association president Jayakumar, Aiyanna A N, secretary Ashok and others were present.
