Siddeshwara Swamiji had inextricable bond with cultural city

Mysuru: The Param Pujya Siddeshwar Swamiji of Jnana Yogashrama in Vijayapura district had an inextricable connection with cultural city. The Swamiji who was one of the most influential Swamiji of state with his simplicity denied to receive Padma Shree award in the year 2018 when prime minister Narendra Modi government offered the award to him. While denying award Swamiji said I am a saint why such awards for a saint ? Swamiji have lakhs of devotees , followers in through out the state.

Thousands of devotees were present during his sermons. More than one lakh people visited him on Tuesday offered final respects.

When he arrived in Mysuru, he used to stay in the common room of the Jagadguru Sutturu ShivaraThreeshwara (JSS) mutt. Later he used to give sermons to the devotees in the premises of the mutt. In the morning, he used to climb the Chamundi hill from Suttur Mutt through the steps and then sit near Nandi statue on the hill and come back to Suttur Mutt.

In June last year, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mysuru to inaugurate the new building and student dormitory of the JSS Sanskrit School in Mysuru Siddeshwar Swamiji shared the dais with him. In 1991, Siddeshwar Sri delivered a 30-day discourse on God at Nakatra Farm in the city, followed by Bhakti Yoga in 1995, Isha Upanishad in 1999, Yogapanishat in Mysore University in 2000, Siddeshwar Sri mesmerized the devotees. Siddeshwar swamiji gave a lecture and participated in the brainstorming program. Swamiji also participated in several discourse programs and gave sermons.

The news of Siddeshwara Swami of Jnana Yogashram in Vijayapur passing away has shocked the people of the state as he was fondly called as walking god.

JSS mutt pontiff Suttur Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji said that Swamiji used to come to Suttur mutt every year without fail and stayed in the Mutt for months and used to wash away the dirt of his mind of devotees with visionary words . He sacrificed his life on the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi, unexpected and divine will, the values in which Swamiji has adopted in his life are eternal pontiff added.
