Two UP men held for creating BJP leader's fake Facebook account, collecting money
Bengaluru: The police have nabbed two persons on charges of impersonating BJP national organising secretary B L Santhosh and collecting money from the victims. The accused, Ibrahim and Mohammad Shokin, have been charged with creating fake Facebook profiles in the name of Santhosh.
The police have said that the duo are natives of Chowki Bangara village in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. Five mobile phones, more than 10 SIM cards and bank passbooks have been seized from the duo by the police.
Some of the friends of Santhosh had sent money after the account in his name had asked for Rs 15,000.
A police team led by inspector Praveen Babu had arrested the two after a complaint was lodged with a cybercrime police station in the city.
