ristmas is almost here, let's have a merry little holiday by inviting friends home with our great Christmas party Ideas.

Delicious treats, festive drinks, plum cake, and may be some goodies to end the party with sounds great.. DIY's for a noon party to a salt dough crafting ideas.

The most wonderful time of the year, December which reminds us of Snow, Santaclaus, Jingle bells, lights, Plum cakes, wine, chill climate, party time, epic time. aka CHRISTMAS, is almost upon us, which means you officially have a legit reason to watch Love Actually on repeat, play Christmas music non-stop, and drink loads of Christmas-y cocktails. Rejoice! Once you've figured out your White Elephant gifts (plus what you're getting for your boyfriend, your best friend, the wine lover in your life, your wife, your father-in-law, the list freakin' goes on), you can finally sit down and start planning the most epic holiday party of all time. Yes, hosting a shindig during the busiest time of the year can be stressful (finding a weekend when your friends aren't booked is a challenge all on its own), but everyone loves a good Christmas fete when it's done right.

Obviously it's not hard to get into a jolly mood when there are gifts being given and Selena Gomez is blasting through the speakers. All the same, it doesn't hurt to have a few holiday cheer tricks up your sleeve to make 100 percent sure your rager does, in fact, rage. Whether you transform into Buddy the Elf the second Thanksgiving is over or your rising sign is akin to the Grinch, these Christmas party ideas will get you in the spirit of the season. From yummy drink concoctions to creative decoration tricks, we've got you covered with everything you'll need to make your soiree *sleigh* extra hard.

First, Set the Tone With Your Invitations

A formal invitation instead of an email or group text will make the event feel more official (Paperless Post does the trick!), and why would you miss out on an opportunity to use a good elf pun?

Cover All the Art on Your Walls With Wrapping Paper

Okay, now let's talk decorations. Give your art collection (hey, framed posters count) a festive makeover with this easy trick. Plus, you can reuse the paper to wrap gifts for your fam after your party is over. A win-win.

Mistletoe, but Make It Portable

Every holiday party needs mistletoe, and making it mobile pretty much guarantees that love will be in the air for at least a few lucky people. All you have to do is buy some fake mistletoe from Michaels, and glue it to a rod. You can use it for photos or as a prop, or simply to make your BFF and her crush's night miserable. Just kidding! Don't do that.

Or Make Mistletoe Wall Decor Out of Balloons

Three red balloons and green construction paper is all you need for this craft. Tape the balloons to the paper, and attach it to the wall. Boom, decor done.

Make Your Ornaments Double as Décor

You don't even need a tree, necessarily! During the holidays, more is more. Invest in streamers, balloons, twinkly lights, or some natural light (GET IT??).

Three Words for You: Snow. Globe. Balloons.

The thing about these balloons is that, unlike the glass version, they won't break even if your neighbor, Bobby from down the hall, has too many cups of punch and accidentally knocks 'em over. (And even if they do get destroyed, you're cleaning up bits of balloon rather than shards of scary stuff.) You can find instructions for this DIY project here. Or if you're feeling lazy and just wanna purchase a bunch of pretty golden balloons, you can do that here.

Another DIY Project: Santa's Belt Cups

For this crafternoon, all you need is some black and white duct tape. Whether you want to make these using red solo cups or clear glasses (how adult of you) is up to you. Drinking sangria from a cup that looks like the big guy's belly? Proven to prevent hangovers, I'm pretty sure.

Order All the "Get Lit" Party Products You Can

The decade is almost over, so you might as well lean into the whole "lit" theme. (Which, god willing, will definitely be o-v-e-r by the time the next holiday season rolls around.) Put it on napkins, plates, and cups, and make sure your guests abide by the motto all night long. Psst: Etsy has some cute and affordable options.

Make a Grinch Cocktail

Basically any green drink can be a Grinch cocktail, but Midori Melon Liqueur will give your punch the brightest hue. Find more Christmas cocktail ideas right here. Cheers!

You Haven't Truly Lived Until You've Made a Jello Shot Christmas Tree

Step 1. Prepare Jell-O shots in the colors of your choice (I'm partial to green and red, but that's just me!). Step 2. Arrange them in a tree formation (pictured here). Note that you might need to use several pieces of cardboard cut in circles in order to balance all the layers of your boozy, gelatin-y goodness. But just do it, guys, because it's stupid-easy and so adorable.

If You're Gonna Go the Ugly Sweater Route, Do It Big

Allow me to be tacky for a sec, okay? People will undoubtedly show up to your spot in their ugliest Christmas garb even if you put on the invitation "chic festive attire only, please!" in bright gold letters. Roast these misbehaving guests by holding a competition for whose sweater is the very worst. Line up the sartorial offenders against one wall and have the rest of your party attendees vote on least to biggest eye sore. Fun!

No Gifts, Please. Just Wine.

This is a fun twist on the usual gift-exchange tradition. Instead of a free-form Secret Santa setup, require your guests to bring a special bottle of wine for whichever lucky person they were assigned. Up the stakes by asking people to find the most personalized bottle of booze under the sun, but obviously put a cap on the price tag so people don't go too crazy.

Or, Fine, Do a White Elephant Exchange

If your friends aren't into wine (why?), then set a price limit ($20 is totally fine) and have each friend bring one gift. (If you need white elephant gift ideas, by the way, we gotchu.) When you're ready to play, here's how it works: Each guest picks a number from a hat which dictates the order that they'll get to choose a present from the pile. You can opt to keep the gift you select, or pick from the presents that were opened before you. Just a warning, though: Sh*t tends to get heated. That glittery candle in the shape of a pear is a hot-ticket item, y'all!

Play "Never Have I Ever" With Candy Canes

No, I haven't lost my mind, it's a real thing! It works just like the famous game, except you attach a "never have I ever" prompt to each candy cane with red ribbon, and then place the sweets in a jar or cup. When it's your turn, pull out a peppermint and pose the question to the group. Whoever hasn't done the act in question gets the treat (yes, you'll need to have more candy canes stashed on the sidelines), and the person with the most candies at the end of the game wins. Or loses. Depends on how you look at.

Set Up an "Elfie Selfie" Station

Christmas is the time to be cheesy! Or at least, 'tis the season to eat cheese while wearing an elf costume, whatever. Seriously, just buy a few cheap pairs of elf ears on Amazon, and make your guests pose in front of your newly-appointed wrapping-paper-covered art collection. It'll be Instagram magic, I tell you!

Make a Cookie-Decorating Station

"Make" (aka buy) some sugar cookies, and stock up on loads of colorful frosting, tiny silver balls, and sprinkles. Come on, it's fun to feel like a kid sometimes.
