These 3 Heritage Beauty Buys Support and Celebrate Women’s Day

Sunday, March 8, 2020 marks the International Women's Day this year, a celebration of women working to create a future of gender equality.

One of the supporters of the initiative, Avon, is a long-term advocate of women's empowerment, entrepreneurship, and well-being in a world where women are often routinely mistreated, tragically.

According to new heritage beauty brand study, a third of women will experience physical and/or sexual abuse in their lifetime, while 21% of women feel insecure in the public and 49 countries do not have laws protecting women from domestic violence.

Avon isn't the only company that uses its popularity-and revenues-to combat this. Most organizations that serve women, both inside and outside their businesses, are launching charity partnerships for International Women's Day 2020 that you are going to want to help for countless reasons. Below are three favourites for Bazaar:

Kith Women x Estée Lauder Chapter 2, £150

Estée Lauder has collaborated with trendy streetwear company Kith Women to celebrate International Women's Day for the second year running. This tells a story of generational beauty, focusing on qualities and abilities that are passed down between woman (the entrepreneur's nature of Estée Lauder, and the beauty legacy she began).

As if heirlooms, each product in the five-piece make-up set comes clothed in custom casing inspired by Estée Lauder's original golden packaging. The collection then comes housed in a translucent Plexi case which doubles as a clutch.

To celebrate the collaboration, both brands will host special launch events at Kith's SoHo NYC flagship and at Selfridges, London from 7-8 March. Here, shoppers can customise their products and try them on with the assistance of professional make-up artists.

Bobbi Brown x Pretty Powerful, £64

Bobbi Brown has collaborated with British designer Elizabeth Scarlett to produce a limited-edition make-up bag, beautifully embroidered with daisies, which houses three of the iconic items of the brand: Smokey Eye Mascara, Vitamin Enriched Face Base and Pot Rouge in Powder Pink.

The UK sales proceeds will be donated to charity Smart Works. The organization seeks to empower displaced women to return safely to the workforce, providing clothing and customized resources to help clients overcome the obstacles faced by far too many people every day. It's a victory.

Charlotte Tilbury x Net-a-Porter, £50

This year, make-up artist to the stars – and inspirational entrepreneur – Charlotte Tilbury is one of the first non-fashion designers to create a T-shirt for Net-a-Porter's International Women's Day collection.

The organic cotton jersey top, made with Ninety Percent, is emblazoned with 'The Magic Within' in gold handwritten lettering, a nod to self-belief and the concept of having what you give; if you bring positivity out into the world, you get it back again.

Women for Women International will receive 100 per cent of the proceeds from the sales of the T-shirt line, a charity that helps women in war-torn countries learn the skills they need to rebuild their lives and inspire hope for the future. Last year Tilbury pledged £ 1 million to the charity as a global ambassador. Can be even bigger this year.
