Full Meals Thali For Just Re 1 At This Delhi Restaurant

A Delhi based restaurant sells thali that resembles an executive meal for the people of all categories. A restaurant by name "Shyam Rasoi" in Bhooth waali galli offers meal for just one rupee. The menu includes Rice, Pickle, Sambar, Rasam, and a curry.

This hotel is rendering its service for the past two years. We can notice a long queue in front of this hotel from 11 am to 1 pm. The customers include not only poor class people, we can see rich people, middle class people, and pedestrians who come there.

All these people wait for this 1 rupee meal irrespective of their class, caste or creed. This restaurant is being run by one called Pravin Kumar Goel for the past two years. "Daily, we cater to about 1000 to 1200 people. We send parcels to people who reside around this area. We supply food to places like Indra Lok, and Sai Mandir through Auto Rickshaws. Every day, about 2000 people eat from this Sham ki Rosoi hotel," says Pravin. "People give us donations. Yesterday, a poor old woman gave us groceries. Other day some one gave wheat. People pay us even through digital payment. We will be able to provide food for seven days. And I request people to help to continue this service by providing groceries," adds Pravin.

Pravin has six assistants. Based on the income they will be paid about 300-400 rupees. In their absence, college students come and help them. Earlier, they used to charge about ten rupees per thali but to attract people we are charging one rupee says the proprietor. A businessman by name Ranjith has provided place to run this hotel
