Ayurveda to improve during Coronavirus
Hyderabad: During the current pandemic scare of Coronavirus, the immunity has become the most important thing that cannot be ignored by an individual. Ayurveda has a lot to offer for people who are struggling ways to improve their immunity.
According to the Ayurveda specialists, Ayurveda is a plant-based science that helps in improving immunity which has been emphasized in many number of ways in the Ayurveda literature.
Speaking to The Hans India, Dr Ranganathan, an Ayurveda specialist at Vrindavan Clinic, KPHB colony said, " it is good to follow an Ayurvedic regimen at home to help remove Ama(a term denoting a product that is an undigested form derived from food that gets absorbed into the system without proper assimilation) and prevent its build-up. Daily yoga and pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) are particularly good for promoting digestion. They both enliven Prana (life-force)."
It is important to eat light, warm foods that are cooked with the resistance-enhancing spice blends previously mentioned. Avoid eating or drinking anything cold. It is also important to avoid heavy deserts and sweets, such as chocolate, as these are difficult to digest. Start each day with stewed apple for breakfast, cooked with spices such as cinnamon and cardamom. Try adding sultanas or raisins to the pot.
According to an research on Ojas and Ayurveda, titled 'Ojas: The vital nectar of life' by five researchers A B Bagde, Ranjeet Sawant, Yanpalleswar, M B Nikumbh, RS Dhimdhime in Mumbai, Ojas is an essence present in every dhatu (tissue) and considered as Sara of all the seven dhatus starting from Rasa to Shukra and responsible for the strength of the body.
The purest substance in the universe and omnipresent in the human being, Ojas is responsible consciousness, purity in thoughts, health, positivity in feelings in every situation, better immunity, longevity, intelligence and memory. Ojas is one of most important element for maintains and sustaining of life. All human beings are well nourished by Ojas and its decrease leads to the cessation of life."
Though Ojas is located in the Hridya (heart), it pervades all over the body. It controls or regulates the whole working system of the body. In Veda Bala, Prana, Veerya and Kapha terms are considered as the synonyms of Ojas. In Ayurveda Ojas is also known as Bala (strength) because it provides strength to the body in terms of physical, mental, immunological and resistance to the body. It is a bit difficult to define Ojas as per modern methodology.
