Before Buying A Hand Sanitiser Read The Label

To avoid the COVID-19 virus, you need to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. The best thing is to use trusted brands. Brands that made entry after the pandemic may not be safe as these are produced in a rush. Ensure that you read the labels carefully to check the active ingredient, whether it is ethanol/ethyl alcohol or isopropyl/isopropanol. Ethyl alcohol is the safest. According to CDC guidelines, a minimum of 60 percent ethanol and 70 percent isopropanol is safe. But the FDA says that hand sanitizers must contain at least 94.9 percent ethanol by volume. If the label shows alcohol as an active ingredient, avoid it.

Select The Right Hand Sanitiser

Keep in mind most alcohol-based hand sanitizers have an expiry date. Because alcohol evaporates over time and your hand rub will be less effective. Choose the hand sanitizer that has both anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties and must contain 60 to 70 percent alcohol. Store your hand sanitizer in a cool place away from heat.

Symptoms Of Methanol Toxicity

Methanol poisoning can cause nausea, dizziness, loss of consciousness, fatigue, and weakness, and blurry vision. If ingested, it might also lead to blindness and death. It can make your skin dry and cause dermatitis. The dangers are the same whether you absorb the methanol via your skin or inhale the fumes. It is mainly harmful to children and pregnant women.
