Karwa Chauth 2023: Know the date, timing and significance of this auspicious day

Karwa Chauth, also known as Karak Chaturthi, is celebrated mainly in northern and western India, every year during the months of October or November. Like other Hindu festivals, this one is also based on the Hindu calendar or panchang. This day is celebrated on the fourth day of the full moon, as Chaturthi is the fourth day of the month. The day also falls on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha.

Chaturthi is the fourth day of the Hindu Lunar Moon. On this day, wives pray for the long life, good health and wealth of their husbands. On this day, it is considered sacred to worship the moon and offer Arghya.

Kawva Chauth 2023 Date:

As per Vedic calendar, this time Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month starts at 09:30 pm. m. on Tuesday, October 31 and will end on Wednesday, November 1 at 09:19 p.m. m.

Karwa Chauth fast will be observed on Wednesday, November 1, on the basis of Udayatithi and Chaturthi moonrise. On this day, the devotee must fast for 13 hours and 42 minutes. The fast will be from 06:33 am in the morning until 08:15 pm.

Muhurat Puja:

Women observing the Karwa Chauth fast on Wednesday, November 1, will have an auspicious time of 1 hour and 18 minutes for worship in the evening. The auspicious time of Karwa Chauth Puja is from 5:36 p.m. to 6:54 p.m.

Moon and Arghya Worship:

On the day of Karwa Chauth, the moonrise will take place at 8:15 pm. From this point on, one can offer Arghya as well as worship the moon. The fast will be completed by offering Arghya to the moon.

Departure time:

The Karwa Chauth fast can be broken after offering Arghya to the moon. The fast is completed by drinking water from the husband's hands. You can do Paraná at any time after 8:15 p.m. on November 1.
