Lawyer Kumar Shanu resumes Law Practice after his return to India

Lawyer Kumar Shanu is back to India after completing his Masters in International Law from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. He has set offices in Delhi NCR and Patna with teams dealing in mutli-disciplinary Dispute Resolution and Criminal Litigation. The recruits include fresh graduates from National Law Schools (NLUs), practising lawyers and young associates from top tier Indian law firms. Kumar had earlier left his acclaimed litigation practice to join the Fletcher School.

Apart from this, he was a lawyer for the New Delhi Municipal council (NDMC). Kumar got an opportunity to serve on two committees set up by Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR), Government of Delhi, to review the working of the ChildLine, the "911" equivalent helpline for children and implementation of Section 12(1) (c) of Right to Education Act which mandates every private school in India to reserve 25% of its entry-level seats for children from economically weaker sections and socially disadvantaged groups, respectively. At the Fletcher School, he was an elected student representative to the Fletcher Student Council and even got inducted to the university's prestigious 'Honos Civicus Society' in recognition of his engagement in public service and leadership activities and contribution in strengthening civic life in the United States and abroad during his studies.
