It has been created after the attack of Tsunami, a disaster that occurred in 2004. It was aimed at supporting those people who are affected by this natural calamity.

The real purpose of Go Barefoot Day is it encourages people to donate shoes both new and used in a way provide support for the victims of natural disasters.
