Social media has changed the definition of love
Gone those days, where a boy meeting a girl, face to face (vice-versa) at a certain place, standing on their knees and proposing. Now it's the generation where it's just a text away to say something to someone whom we never met or known.
Love in today's generation is completely different from what we know in reality. Love is not the right term to denote about relationships that start on social media, because it is not true love. It's some sort of infatuation or an attraction towards someone, or maybe a hookup kind. I have seen a lot of relationships start and end in social media itself. It's like you park a car until you purchase your consumables. Everything happens so quickly, that it doesn't make sense, whether it's right or wrong.
Daily we connect with a lot of people on social media, of which some are our college friends and family members whereas the rest are unknowns. From celebs to common man, everyone is on social media. According to Statista, around 2.65 billion people are using social media and it is expected to increase to almost 3.1 billion in 2021. And this number keeps on increasing.
People should understand that love should not be confined to a particular boundary nor act as a wall between two people. It's more than just a virtual conversation. However, meeting someone on social media is a cool thing, but considering it as a meaningful relationship is not right in the beginning.
But if you think that it's working for you and her, and you decided this just by talking for several weeks or maybe a month, then ask him or her out and catch up together. Meet face to face in the real world outside. The world is so small on social media, but believe me, it's not the same in reality.
