As India is inching towards unlocking itself, opening up businesses, one of the worst hit sectors, the hospitality has begun to limp back to what we often refer to these days as the new normal. Hyderabad-based establishments too began opening in a phased manner. The premium hotels and standalone restaurants have been long -preparing for this moment. From setting upquality processes in place, abiding with WHO SOPs and upgrading their facilities following international guidelines of hygiene and sanitation to upping their sanitation and hygiene standards so as to gain reputed certifications, national and international, literally leaving no stone unturned to ensure safety without compromising on service.

The efforts are paying as guests are trickling in steadily, thus re-affirming the trust a brand creates in the hearts of the people.Limited menus, re-invented buffets, packed cutlery, minimal contact with service staff, sanitised cars for pick up are just few of the many measures taken to make the guests feel safer. Turning the challenge of the times into an opportunity few hotels have also announced amazing packages for staycation, and people, who have been confined to homes during the lockdown, are increasingly taking advantage of these special prices and amenities.

The hotels, which have opened to guests under the strictest of guidelines are being favoured for birthdays; guests are even booking suites to celebrate birthdays for safety, and smaller banquet spaces are being booked for lockdown weddings. Many of the special packages the hotels offer for stay during the period select cancellations and are fully refundable since uncertainties are involved if the guests travel from other cities. Sources from the five-star properties confirm on the increase in bookings and enquiries even from outside Telangana. Guests are showing interest to stay in a hotel for a couple of days if only to get away from monotony.
