'We must aim to make India no. 1 country in the world': Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant
National: Eminent and celebrated author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Rashmi Bansal released her 10th edition 'Shine Bright', a fantastic read on the journey of entrepreneurs, who turned every problem into an opportunity. Bringing together an amazing compilation of inspiring stories by CEOs & entrepreneurs and published by Westland Publications (an Amazon company), the book was released in the capital city in the presence of Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog; Chitra Gupta, Principal, Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya School and R Mukundan, Managing Director, TATA Chemicals Ltd.
Making the evening more invigorating and enthralling, the author drove a dialogue with the panellists, Amitabh Kant, Chitra Gupta and R Mukundan, where they spoke and shared the experience of their lives and jobs, the difference they made playing a leadership role and their inspiring stories. The evening took the hall-packed audience to the motivational stories of these well-known entrepreneurs, the challenges they faced and the contributions they made through the learning of the government and private system. Addressing the launch event, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog said, "I congratulate Chitra Ji to have been a change maker.
There needs to be a lot of improvement in the education sector. Till now, the greatest satisfaction in my career that I ever received is in transforming the lives of fishermen in Kerala when I was in charge. Kerala has the highest level of literacy, education and awareness. In one of his conversations, he also spoke about the 'Incredible India' campaign that he initiated to bring about a revival in the tourism industry.
Further deep-diving into the discussion, R Mukundan, Managing Director, TATA Chemicals Ltd. commented, "When I started with my first job in tourism, the entire industry at that time was tanked. I have taken charge of and worked at various places and had a great experience working at each of those companies." He further shared the hurdles that he faced in his career to reach this position.
The evening took the spectators to the complex politics among sadhus and akharas, including the resistance to Hindutva from those who have not thought of profiting from it. The concept and thought behind coming up with this book among such political scenario were brought into the light, with Dhirendra K Jha throwing light on the layers of RSS that lay inside this political world and establishments. On the release of his awe-inspiring book, Mr. Dhirendra K. Expressing her delight at the launch, Rashmi Bansal said, "I am glad to have come up with my 10th book now. This book was specially written with a thought that each entrepreneur has a desire within and goes through the darkest of sides. But, we should always learn from our failures and try to evolve."
Also an entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Bansal feels that entrepreneurship is not just the act of starting a business – it is an attitude to life.
Tête-à-têtes between the discussants spanned around the arrays of circumstances, obstacles, failures and success that each of the panelists cum entrepreneurs have faced in their lives. One of a strong statement as given by, Amitabh Kant was, "I feel I have made a difference in what I have done till now. In the government sector, you should never be an agent of the status quo. He further added, "Wherever I have taken charge, I have always thought about the innovation I can bring there and have always tried to work with the best of teams/professionals."
The book is not about the entrepreneurs who are leading a start-up or a corporate brand, generally, about whom Rashmi writes, but, about intrapreneurs- the one who is an employee by designation but a CEO by the stature of the work they have done for their organization.
