Breaking News Today, 5 May 2020: With the announcement of the extension of lockdown till May 17 provided with some exemptions, the states have been busy in framing guidelines to be followed without violating the center's rules. In this backdrop, the Andhra Pradesh government has lifted the ban on liquor on Monday, which has become controversial amid people forgetting to follow the lockdown spirit such as social distancing and wearing masks. The liquor sale has also taken two lives in a single-family after a dispute with the husband. It is learnt that the government, which has increased the prices by 25 percent on Monday have further increased by 50 more percent on Tuesday.

On the other hand, whine the government is taking several measures in procuring the food grains from the farmers, the change in weather has taken a change resulting in low pressure in the Bay of Bengal and there could be strong winds and moderate rainfall in two Telugu states in next three days.

In Telangana, the cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is going on in which the decision on the extension of lockdown would be approved. As per the speculations, the government is contemplating to extend lockdown till May end and reopen the liquor sales.

Coming to the business sector, there have been fluctuations over the gold and silver prices, which have been settled in between 45,000 to 47,000 while the fuel prices which are stable for the last two months have been on rising in Delhi with Rs.1.67 on petrol and 7.10 on diesel.
