Coronavirus in India: India has reported 2,09,918 Covid cases in a span of 24 hours, 10 per cent lower than the previous day's 2.34 lakh. In the same time span, 959 fresh Covid deaths have also been reported, said the Union health ministry on Monday morning.
With the addition of new Covid fatalities, the death toll has reached 4,95,050. However, Kerala added 374 deaths as backlog to Monday's count.
The active caseload has reported a marginal decline at 18,31,268, which constitutes 4.43 per cent of the country's total positive cases.
The recovery of 2,62,628 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally to 3,89,76,122. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 94.37 per cent.
Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh reported 5,879 fresh Coronavirus cases taking the total tally to 22,76,370 cases across the state. While coming to fatalities, nine deaths reported in the last twenty four hours taking the toll to 14615. On the other hand, as many as 11,384 new patients were cured in the last twenty four hours taking the total recoveries to 21,51,238 and there are currently 1,10,517 active cases.
According to district-wise data, Anantapur district reported 856 new infections, followed by East Godavari 823 and Kadapa 776 while Vizianagaram has logged the least cases with 12 new cases in the last twenty-four hours.

'90% adults in India have got first vaccine dose'
About 90 per cent of India's adult population has received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine whereas over 70 per cent have been administered both the doses, President Ram Nath Kovind said on Monday.

Study finds adults with disabilities in hospital with Covid-19 have worse results
A recent study has found that disabled adults have worse outcomes when hospitalised for Covid-19 when compared to patients without disabilities. The study has been published in the 'Canadian Medical Association Journal'. The differences were especially pronounced in people younger than 65 years.
