The state government on Tuesday directed Gandhi Hospital to defer all the non-urgent surgeries at Gandhi Hospital from today in the view of spike in COVID-19 cases and also asked the other government hospitals were asked to minimize non-urgent surgeries. However, the government also made it clear that there should not be any delay in urgent surgeries. The decision comes in the wake of huge increase in the COVID-19 cases in the state. On Monday, the state recorded 1,825 cases and the positivity rate has been declined to 3.5 per cent to 2.5 per cent. On the other hand, 351 people have been discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the virus. The recovery rate of the state dipped to 97.26 per cent. At present, there are 14,995 active cases in the state. As many as 70,697 samples were tested of which 1,825 came positive and the results of 12,948 samples are awaited.
The incident took place at midnight on Sunday in Subbaigudem village in Penuganchiprolu mandal of Krishna district where the boyfriend slit his girlfriend's throat and attempted suicide. A CRPF constable killed his two children by throwing them into an open well here at Gaddigudem thanda in Mahabubabad mandal on Tuesday. The children were identified as Hammi Jakshi (8) and Jani (4). The police said that accused Bhukya Ramkumar who was serving in Mumbai in Maharashtra came to his native village four days ago on leave. Locals said that Bhukya Ramkumar and his wife Sirisha have been quarelling for the last couple of days and on Monday night, the two had a fight following which the constable threw his two children into an open well.Read more
The Jagan government has taken a crucial decision as the number of corona cases in the AP is on the rise and issued orders enforcing night curfew in the state. The bus services to Medaram from Hanamkonda started off from today, said RTC regional manager Vijaya Bhaskar. The bus will start from Hanamkonda at 7 am and from Medaram at 4 pm, he added. While the bus charges for adults is Rs 125 per person and Rs 65 for kids. On the other hand, the officials have made all the arrangements for the jatara which is scheduled to be held from February 16 to 19. A man who is suspected to be sacrificed for hidden treasure in Nalgonda was found to be mentally retarded. The police shared the face of the victim on social media to identify the victim and found him as Jahendar Naik (30), a native of Sunyapahad of Palakaveedu in Suryapet district. The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy which has launched Jagananna Smart Townships (MIGs) in the state on Tuesday launched the website for Jagananna Smart Township. Speaking on the occasion, CM Jagan said that 30 lakh house deeds have already been distributed. He said it was the government's aim to ensure that every poor person had a home. A young man who married a minor four days ago committed suicide in Guntur while the deceased family members allege that he committed suicide in an attack and harassment by her family members and relatives. The details are as per the police report, Adapaka Sriram (18) from Pinapadu in the town is working as an auto driver and delivery boy in a water plant. When he went to NCRNM High School in urban Marisupeta last year to lay water cans, he came in contact with a ninth-grade girl at the same school. Minister of state for Energy Jagadish Reddy has tested positive for COVID-19. The minister said that he is suffering from mild symptoms of coronavirus and tested positive on undergoing the tests.
