BJP chief Bandi Sanjay faced farmers ire in Arvapally of Nalgonda district when the former arrived to continue 'Rythu Barosa Yatra'. Tension prevailed at Arvapally IKP centre when the farmers reached the place ahead of Bandi Sanjay's visit. The farmers hurled stones at the BJP activists who came to the centre to welcome the party chief. Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Nilam Sawhney has responded to allegations of irregularities in the Kuppam municipal elections. A press release to this effect was issued on Tuesday. The SEC said the polling took place under the surveillance of webcasting, videography and CCTV cameras. She said the polling was peaceful except for a few minor incidents outside the polling booth in Kuppam. The SEC said Chittoor SP had supervised the election duties in Kuppam.Read more

The traffic police who caught a man for violating traffic norms was surprised after seeing pending challan history of him. Mohammad Farid Khan who has 117 unpaid traffic challans was caught by the Abids traffic police while he was passing the Hyderabad collectorate. The police who are conducting the vehicle check found that Mohammad Farid has 117 challans worth Rs 30,000 and seized his bike. Farid Khan was asked to take his bike after paying the pending challans.Read more

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to provide compensation to farmers affected by natural disasters in the same season. As part of that, a total of Rs 22 crore was deposited in the accounts of 34,586 farmers who lost their lives in Rabi on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, CM Jagan said, "We are taking another step forward for the farmers and embarking on another good program. The TRS party on Tuesday confirmed the names of the candidates for MLC election under MLA quota. After drunk drivers, the Cyberabad traffic police decided to give counselling for the traffic violators with at least 10 pending challans. A list of traffic violators has been taken out according to the traffic police station wise. It is learned that around 70 per cent of the traffic violators are not paying the challans and are continuing to violate the traffic rules. The traffic police is said to have taken out names of the violators with 10 or more pending challans.
