A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Hyderabad high court by the research scholars R Subendar Singh and J Shankar on the government's stance of accepting IAS officer Venkatram Reddy's resignation. The petitioners stated that the state government cannot accept the resignation of IAS officer as they work under the central government. They further asked the high court to pass the orders to not to accept his nomination. The petitioners counsel asked the court to take the PIL as a lunch motion petition and hear the matter. However, the court refused to hear the petition today.

CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that the government is implementing welfare schemes without yielding to politics. As part of the discussion on the women empowerment bill in the Assembly sessions, CM Jagan said that his government is doing welfare for the women. He said the government has stood by them through the Amma Vodi scheme and providing a pension. He said the government is spending over Rs 1500 crore on pensions. 'We have brought the YSR Asara scheme to support the women and given incentives to businesses to earn extra income; 3.40 lakh people were shown employment opportunities," YS Jagan said. Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Commissioner K Kannababu responded to the latest weather conditions in the state. He said the cyclone formed in the southwestern Bay of Bengal and was concentrated 310 km southeast of Chennai. The cyclone is said to be moving west-northwest and is expected to cross the coast near Chennai between northern Tamil Nadu and the southern coast tomorrow morning.Read more

Telangana state inter district under-19 junior basket ball competition began at NTR mini stadium in Uttanoor village of Ayiza mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district on Thursday. The competition is being held by the Telangana State Basketball Association on behalf of Uttanur Dhanvantari Venkateswara Swamy Temple Committee from November 18 to 20. Around 20 teams of boys and girls turned up to the venue from 10 erstwhile districts of Telangana. Talented players will be selected to the Telangana state basket ball team. The event was attended by TRS senior leader and former ZPTC Thirumal Reddy, Telangana Basketball Association general secretary Norman Isaac, secretary Neelima, former MP Sundar Raju, former PACS chairman Ramudu, Sarpanches, MPTCs, councilors, coaches and players.

With the effect of the Cyclone, the heavy rains lashed Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu for the last couple of weeks. The rains mainly occurred in the Eastern parts surrounding Nellore and Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed the Chittoor district especially Tirupati from last night till 8 am on Thursday. It has been reported that rainfall of 8 to 10 cm was recorded. The low-lying areas were inundated disrupting the normal life of the people going to schools, jobs, and other works. The people have been sieged from entering outside as the water flow from the Swarnamukhi river into the villages has been increased.
