Andhra Pradesh State Municipal Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that it was the policy of the government to provide tap connection in every house. He advised people should formally take tap connections. Speaking at an assembly media point on Monday, he questioned whether there was support for unofficial events today. An unmarried couple jumped into the left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir here on Monday afternoon. Locals who noticed them rescued the woman while the man went missing. According to locals, the man, identified as Balakrishna (20) is a native of Narsingh tanda in PA Palli mandal. He is in a relationship with his sister-in-law, a minor girl for sometime now. The two professed their love to their parents who rejected their marriage following which the couple decided to end their lives.Read more

The TDP members in Assembly budget meetings on Monday has once again created a stir. The TDP legislatures have protested in the house entering into the speaker podium aiming to insult the Speaker, the Chair and the Legislative Assembly. They did not listen to Speaker Tammineni Sitaram's repeated pleas that valuable meeting time should not be wasted and that the dignity of the House should be maintained. Nellore: In a heinous incident, a youngster slit a girl at Venkatagiri on Monday for refusing to accept his love proposal. The incident happened at Collegemitta area in the town and the victim has been identified as Chigurupati Jyothika, 18, who is studying Intermediate.Read more

Additional DG of the Andhra Pradesh Vigilance and Enforcement Division SV Bagchi warned that many traders in the state after the war in Ukraine were creating artificial shortages by hiding old stocks of cooking oil and raising prices. He said the government was providing cooking oils at low rates through farmers' markets to control prices and vigilance checks were also yielding good results. As a result, cooking oil prices remained stable for two to three days.Read more
