Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has once again conducted a review on relief measures in flood-affected areas in Andhra Pradesh. The review was carried out by video conference with the collectors of Nellore, Chittoor, YSR Kadapa, and the Anantapur districts at the secretariat on Wednesday. On this occasion, the CM reviewed the progress of implementation of the directions given at the last meeting.Read more

The state traffic police are not only penalizing the public for violating traffic rules but also the government officials. In the latest, the vehicle of the Kamareddy district collector (TS 16 EE 3366) is found to be violating the traffic rules 28 times. The penalty was imposed from 2016 to August 20, 2021. A total of Rs 27,580 is to be paid by the district collector for 28 pending challans. Of the total, 24 challans were issued for overspeed of the vehicle. After the news of collector's vehicle flouting the traffic rules grabbed the headlines, 15 pending challans were paid. At present, there are 13 pending challans of worth Rs 12,100 that is yet to be paid.

The election process for Krishna District's Kondapalli Municipal Chairman and Vice-Chairman has been completed. The election, which was postponed for the last two days, was held today by the authorities as per the directions of the High Court. The TDP party members led by TDP MP Kesineni Nani and YSRCP members led by MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad came to the municipal office wherein RDO administered oath by ward members for the election. The details of the election will be submitted to the SEC High Court. Officials did not disclose the names of those elected as chairman and vice-chairman as per the High Court ordered not to disclose the results.Read more

Two people were dead on the spot as the car they were in rammed into a lorry on Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Keesara on Wednesday. Another person who suffered serious injuries was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police suspected that overspeeding of the car may have resulted in the accident. The details of the victims are yet to be known. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem. The car was completely damaged in the incident.Read more

In a tragic incident, after visiting Suryanarayana Swami at Arasavili Shrine in Srikakulam District, an Ayyappa devotee drowned to death in the Champavati river in the town of Nellimarla. According to fellow Ayyappa devotee and Nellimarla SI Ravindra Raju, Battula Chanti (21) of Gumchi area near Ayyakoneru in Vizianagaram along with five other Ayyappa devotee went to visit Suryanarayana Swamy in Arasaville, Srikakulam district on Tuesday morning.Read more

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking Rs 1,000 crore to be sanctioned under emergency flood relief. He had requested to send a central team to assess the flood damage in Andhra Pradesh. The CM said in the letter that the heavy rains had caused a loss of Rs 6.54 lakh crore and asked to send IMTC teams to the state.Read more

A man from Nalgonda who went to Mali for work died with illness in Dubai on Monday. Madar Goud (50), is a native of Urumadla in Chityal mandal of Nalgonda district. He went to Mali country where he worked as a borewell driller. Madar is said to have fallen ill and decided to return home. He boarded a flight to Hyderabad on Monday, however, his condition deteriorated following which the flight staff made emergency landing in Dubai and shifted him to a hospital. Madar died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai at 11.50 pm on Monday. The family of the deceased requested the government to help them in bringing back the body to Nalgonda.
