In a tragic incident, Mandangi Praveen Kumar (11), a fifth-grader at the Tribal Welfare Boys Ashram School in the remote area of the Sitampet mandal in Srikakulam district died of electrocution on Wednesday. The student who went out of the ashram school at about three o'clock in the afternoon was hit by an 11kv high tension wire, which was broken and fell on an electric pole.Read more

The Telugu Desam Party senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu welcomed the Andhra Pradesh High Court's decision to develop Amaravati as the AP capital. He said that three years have been wasted. The government of Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has received a huge blow from High Court on Thursday. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of the High Court Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra delivered a key verdict on the cancellation of the three capitals, CRDA Act, and ordered the government to develop Amaravati as the capital and implement the master plan as it stands. The court said that the assembly does not have the power to make any laws on the capital and directed that the state government should act in accordance with the CRDA law. The court ordered that the developed plots be handed over to the farmers within three months.Read more

According to the police, the woman, identified as P Bhargavi (32) is a native of Mancherial and was working as a caretaker for P Hemavathi (73) in Snehapuri Colony in Nacharam.
