Pranab Mukherjee News Live Updates: The health condition of former President Pranab Mukherjee continues to be critical and is under ventilator support. Mr. Mukherjee underwent brain surgery for the removal of a clot. Prior to surgery, he was tested Coronavirus positive. He was admitted to the Army's Research and Referral (R&R) hospital.
Pranab Mukherjee served India as the 13th President from 2012 to 2017. He has been a senior Congress leader and has served on various ministerial posts.
In the year 2019, Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, honoured him with Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
Pranab Mukherjee was from West Bengal, before joining politics he worked as a college teacher and a journalist for a Bengali newspaper. His father was a freedom fighter and Congress party member.
