Trump Biden Election Results Live Updates: After four years in the White House, Mr. Trump became the first incumbent to lose re-election in more than a quarter-century.

The election result fulfills Mr. Biden's decades-long ambition in his third bid for the presidency. It also provides a history-making moment for Senator Kamala Harris, the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, who became the first woman on a winning presidential ticket.

Joe Biden won 74,478,345 votes aganist Donald Trump who secured 70,329,970 votes by the time Biden won Pennsylvania.

Joe Biden was spending the morning with his family at his home in Delaware when he saw the news that he was projected the winner of his native Pennsylvania and will be the 46th president of the United States.

Incumbent US President Donald Trump is currently leading in the states of Alaska and North Carolina, while his rival Joe Biden is likely to emerge victorious Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. Donald Trump had won Alaska by a margin of 14.7 points in the year 2016. This year, in Alaska, which accounts for three electoral votes, Trump is leading by 62.1 percent votes to 33.5 percent, as per AP figures. So far, around 50 percent of the expected votes have been counted in Alaska, which makes it the slowest in all of US.

Team Biden has begin work

As officials continue to count ballots in several undecided states, longtime Biden aide Ted Kaufman is leading efforts to ensure the former vice president can begin building out a government in anticipation of a victory. Kaufman is a former senator from Delaware who was appointed to fill the seat vacated when Biden was elected vice president. He also worked on Barack Obama's transition team in 2008, and helped write legislation formalizing the presidential transition process.
