It's a full moon night and suddenly a human gets transformed into an animal and his howl can be heard from miles away too. This sequence is not a new one to movie buffs as it seems that something we have watched in the most-loved Twilight series… When we speak about Hollywood movies their VFX is just out-of-the-box and it made the Twilight series hold blockbuster status. But the Bollywood's ace director Dinesh tried to create the same aura in the theatres with Bhediya but he also added a twist to the tale and made Varun rock on the big screens.

Plot:

As it is a shape-shifter or werewolf movie, one definitely expects a top-notch VFX. So, along with turning successful in creating the magic, Dinesh also tried to level up the movie by addressing a serious environmental issue through the storyline. Going with the plot, it showcases how Varun aka Bhaskar and two of his friends JD (Abhishek Banerjee) and Joe (Paalin Kabak) are assigned a job to construct a road in the dense forests of Arunachal Pradesh. So, the task includes cutting down trees in the picturesque jungle. Even locals also warn the trio not to play with nature when they try to convince them. But one can witness the twist in the tale when Varun gets bitten by a wolf. He suddenly experiences weird changes in his body and turns into a wolf every full moon night. So, the main task of Varun's friends is to stop him from attacking the people of neighbouring villages. So, did they turn successful in their mission or not should be witnessed on the big screens itself or else one will surely miss the magic of the twist!

Analysis:

Varun Dhawan is definitely the hero of the plot as he did his best and also made the audience go ROFL with his hilarious expressions. From being a contractor to transforming into a wolf, one can witness a major change in his character as the movie runs. The lead actress also got a decent character even though she got limited space. She tried to help Varun and her friends in a risky way. Coming to Bhaskar's friends, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabaak, they are a great addition to the plot. On the one hand, they help Varun to come out of the strange phase and on the other side, they need to restrict him from destroying their project. They got the chance to play both comedy and drama elements and thus proved their mettle.

Speaking about the director Amar, his job is tremendous. Picking a storyline that needs much VFX work is risky as the standards are raised high with RRR movie. But he raised the bar with his scenic magic and also narrated a social-message-based story line handling the comedy elements too. Cutting down trees in the jungle for human needs leads to disturbances in nature and this point is correctly showcased on the big screens. Music director duo Sachin-Jigar has done their job as the background music and the songs are worth listening to!

Conclusion:

Bhediya holds a serious environmental subject but it is put forward hilariously by promising classy VFX.
