The movie had generated a lot of buzz before it hit the OTT platform. So, does French Biriyani live up to its hype? Let's find out.

Cast: French Biriyani stars Danish Salt, Pitobash Tripathy, Sal Yusuf, Disha Madan in key roles. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar has produced the movie under her husband's home banner.

French Biriyani Review: A local don Charles death leads to a comedy of errors. The don's son tries hard to decipher a cryptic messages from his father while auto driver Asgar and the French visitor Simon too become integral part of the plot. So does Kannada movie French Biriyani manage to keep its viewers engaged? Well, yes to a large extent. A few scenes and situations do evoke laughs from viewers yet we are bound to feel that something major is missing in the movie. Although this kind of genre has mostly been experimented with in Mollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood in Sandalwood it's something new. Not that there is a dearth of comedies in Kannada. There are enough but this is way different from the rest.

This is Kannada director Nagabharana's son Pannaga's second outing so he deserves a round of applause for choosing an experimental script like this. However, the director probably didn't have an idea that it won't be a cakewalk to execute such a script involving a lot of complexities. But he really needs a pat on his back for putting the right actor in the right role. The characters deliver to the T. The comic timing in a few scenes are fantastic. What makes the movie work to a large extent is Vasuki Vaibhav's music.

Verdict: Pannaga Bharana's French Biriyani is a laugh riot for those familiar with Bengaluru slangs. Even though it doesn't offer much, it's a timepass movie worth watching over a weekend.
