Review: Sufiyum Sujatayum On Amazon Prime video Fails To Meet Expectations

Sufiyum Sujatayum on Amazon Prime Video is named after the two main characters in the movie. Starring Aditi Rao Hydari and Dev Mohan Sufiyum Sujatayum is helmed by Naranipuzha Shanavas. This Amazon presentation had created a lot of hype before its release. Does the movie live up to the hype? Read on to know more.

Sufiyum Sujatayum revolves around the same old theme, 'our bond is eternal' whether we end up together or not. How many times have we not come across the subject? So what's so different about this latest Amazon release? We will come to that later. Sufiyum Sujatayum deals with the love between Sufi and a mute Hindu woman Sujatayum. This is Dev Mohan's debut while Aditi Rao Hydari has played a mute woman for the first time. Her role reminds you of Dhwani which starred Shobana as a mute girl.

Now, about the lead characters, the chemistry between Sufi and Sujata is apparent but what draws them together and consider their love as 'eternal' or 'forever' is intriguing and remains a mystery. The director fails to make a point there.

Now the other main character—Aditi's husband Jayasuriya, who's frustrated. He has done a wonderful job.

Verdict: Sufiyum Sujatam on Amazon Prime Video has nothing new to offer and is unconconvincing on several levels. Aditi should have done her homework before working in the movie.
