A case of over-protection

A case of over-protection

The argument for proposed legislation on violence against doctors if implemented is going to be a hasty step in the best interest of the suffering patient community. How many doctors in the government as well as private hospitals are behaving and treating patients in a humanitarian way? While getting huge salaries the government doctors are amassing lot of wealth from their private practice.

On the other hand the private doctors are charging exorbitant fees and medical charges which are quite unaffordable for poor people. Sometimes they are treating even dead bodies and patients with no hope of survival by keeping them in their hospitals for days together to loot money from the patients' kith and kin.

I am sorry to express that most of the medical fraternity have forgotten their Hippocratic oath,"The health of the patient will be my first consideration ".The proposal for such a legislation will further dilute their commitment.
