A case of over-reaction

The arrest of a politician, Priyanka Sharma for forwarding a meme on Mamata Banerjee, by the state government of Bengal is an over- reaction.

A bit of satire, joke or cartoon is always an exaggerated one that intends to drive a point effectively. But nowadays such a fine artistry is getting more exaggerated angry response from the targeted,than appreciation, thanks to the changed political atmosphere.

Though the above said meme is not in good taste, it does not either qualify to be taken seriously.The Supreme Court has rightly ordered to grant her bail.

The Right to free speech of an individual should not be at the mercy of the state.
